Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): poulan pro 220, arinet, spark arrestor

Question
I have a poulan pro 220 that only has about 5 hr. on
it. It will start and run for about 5 or 10 min. and
then it starts to bog down and dies. It won't start
until it cools down.I have had trouble with it ever
sense I've had it. I know the gas oil mix is good and
it has a new plug.
HELP!!!!!!
 Thanks Brian

Answer
Hello Brian:

Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. The Cap Should Allow Air in and No Fuel Mix Out. If the Cap is Good, then Operate the Engine Until it Quits. When the Engine Quits; Immediately Check the Plug for Fire. If No Fire at the Plug, then the Coil/Ign Module is Bad. Check the Exhaust Port and Muffler for Carbon Blockage. Check the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler for Blockage Also. Check the Cylinder/Jug Assembly Bolts and Make Sure they are Tight. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog Poulan/Weed Eater. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
