Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 20 hp Kohler, hp kohler, safety switches

Question
I have a 20 hp Kohler that runs fine until it is warmed up (2-3 minutes) after that it will continue to run fine until it is put under a load. It will then continue to run but the motor cut's on and off as if spark was interrupted. I have checked all safty switches and they seem to be working properly. Could it be the electronic ingnition?

Answer
Hello Bill:

Remove the Air Filter. Get a Squirt Can and Put a Small Amount of Gas Into the Squirt Can. Start the Engine and Make it Do the Cutting In and Out Thing you are Asking About. When the Engine Cuts Out, Quickly Spray Gas Into the Carburetor Throat. Not Too Much; you will Flood the Cylinder Just a Slight Squeeze is All that is Required. Did the Engine Cut Back In or Continue to Die Until the Same Point as Before. If the Gas had No Effect on the Engine, then the Coil/Magneto/Ign Module May be Bad. Remove the Cut Off Wire from the Throttle Coil/Magneto/Ign Module and Operate the Engine. If the Engine Runs Properly, then 1 or More of the Safety Switches is Causing the Problem. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
