Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Bent deck, John Deer Lawn Mower, spindle assembly, john deer

Question
I ran over a large root and the blade got stuck in the root.  The deck around where the shaft housing, for the blade, bolts to the deck is bent.  How hard will this be to fix or can it be fixed.  This is a two blade deck.

Answer
Hello Bryan:

Usually a Bent Deck is Very Hard to Get Straightend Out Again. The Metal is Usually Stretched and Most Times will Flex More than Normal During Mower Operations. With the Damage being at the Spindle Assembly; you May have a Hard Time Getting the Spinlde and Blade Level Again. Go to your Local Machine Shop and Get a Quote on Repairing the Deck. A Machine Shop is Better Equiped to Perform this Repair. Usually the Cost at a Machine Shop is $50 to $60us Dollars. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
