Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): s82 john deere wiring, purple wire, color codes

i have a john deere riding mower the wires to the switch are all disconnected i do not know where to replug them i have 2 black wires, 2 red wires and 1 purple wire .On the switch i have  5 poles one with the letter S one with the letter L one with the letter M and one with the letter G and one with no letter at all,can you please help me thanks

I do not know JD wiring color codes but you can use the website as a schematic and trace each of the JD wires to where they terminate.  The challenging part will be tracing the wires.  Write down where each wire leads to, then connect them according to the schematic.
