Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): husqvarna LTH130, safety switches, seat safety

Question
Starts fine, but dies when foot is removed from brake or when you try to engage blade. What could the problem be?

Answer
Hello Annette:

Check the Seat Safety Switch. From your Description, the First Diagnostic will be the Seat Safety Switch. This is a Common Problem. The Contacts May be Corroded or the Connector May Not be Making a Good Contact with the Switch, Caused by Vibration. On Some Model Mowers you can Unplug the Seat Safety and the Problem is Solved. On Other Models you have to Jumper the Harness where the Switch Plugs in. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHECKING THE SAFETY SWITCHES IS JUST THAT!!! FOR CHECKING ONLY. I NEVER Suggest a Mower be Operated with a Safety Device or Switch Disconnected or Bypassed. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
