Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 16hp briggs vtwin, type numbers, outer edge

Question
Hello
I have a simplicity broadmoar with a 16hp briggs engine.  The starter gear
was stripped out (idler pully incident). I've remove the old gear.   What's the
easiest way to install the new gear?  Does the starter need to come off?   I
don't see obvious bolts for the starter.
thanks for your help.
Doug

Answer
Hello Doug:

The Starter Must be Removed to Replace the Starter Drice Gear. Send me the Model and Type Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model and Type Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. The Starter Bolts are Most Likely Under the Outer Edge of the Flywheel and Bolt Vertically Into the Engine Block. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
