Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Webb B & S engine model 60102 type 0252 02 code no 70N 093, anchor stud, blade style

Question
Helpful neighbour removed flywheel and points which were broken and I have purchased locally identical replacement points but cannot see how they fit back on and not sure how flywheel locks on either. Neighbour not available think hes taken one of yr cyanide pellets!
Most grateful for any advice or suggestions u might have as to how I proceed to fit these items or should I take to local lawnmower repair shop. The machine is almost an antique but is in very good condition and has worked well until recently. I do have a more modern machine so no panic but the Webb is a joy to use!.

Thanks in anticipation

Mike

Answer
Hello Mike:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model and Type Numbers (60102-0252). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Select the Flywheel, Blower Hsg, Elec File. The Point Set is Breakdown #375. The Flat Spring Goes on the Condenser and is Compressed and the Coil and Shut Off Wire are Put through the Hole in the Condenser and the Spring is Released. The Spring Pushes Against the Coil and Shut Off Wire and Hold them in Place. The Hooked Spring Attaches to the Spring Arm of the Point Set and to a Small Anchor Stud on the Engine. The Breakdown Shows how the Point Set Looks when Installed Excepted in Exploded View. Once the Point Set is Replaced, Turn the Engine and Watch the Point Set Plunger #342. When it is Extended and is Holding the Spring Arm Away from the Condenser; Use a Blade Style Feeler Gauge and Slide the Condenser Back and Forth and Set a .020in Gap Between the Point Set Contacts. Tighten the Condenser Clamp and Replace the Flywheel. The Flywheel is Held in Place by the Flywheel Nut. The Flywheel Key is Required to Set the Flywheel at the Proper Position so the Plug Fires at the Proper Time. On this Engine you can Set the Flywheel Onto the Engine and Line Up the Key Ways and Insert the Flywheel Key. Place the Belleville (Convex/Concave) Washer on the Flywheel so the Washer has the "Hump Up" and then Replace the Starter Clutch Assembly. Heres the Hard Part. The Starter Clutch Assembly is Torqued to 55 Foot Pounds. Use a Pipe Wrench and Make Sure it is Tight if you Do Not have the Special Torque Wrench. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
