Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Echo GT2400, spark plug, exhaust system

My trimmer starts and runs 15-20 minutes and then dies. I can restart it, but it won't stay running. Wait until the next day and it will run for a while and then it does it again. What's wrong?

Answer
First, replace the spark plug.  Second, if the trimmer is several years old check the muffler, exaust port and spark arrestor.  Sometimes carbon builds up in these areas and restrict the exhaust system.

Have you checked the engine compression?
