Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor, question pool, gas filter

Question
Nathan, I had asked Eric this question about my tractor. He needed more information. When I tryed to get back to him, it said he was all max out. Maybe you could help. While mowing, the engine quit, like it ran out of gas.
It seems like its using the gas from the gas filter faster than than the gas is getting into the filter.
( It is a new gas filter )

I'm stumped.

It's a Craftsman 17.0 HP lawn tractor (Model 917.273143) with a Kohler engine (Model CV490, type 27508). Fuel line connect directly from the fuel tank to the gas filter than to the carburetor?  Does not have a fuel pump.

Answer
Hello Peter:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. 1- Check the Gas Tank Cap. If the Cap is Not Venting the Tank this will Occur. 2- Check the Tank for Trash/Water. 3- Replace the Fuel line from the Tank to the Filter. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
