Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere LT133 Shift Linkage Adjustment, john deere lt133, shift linkage

Question
John, Can you tell me how to adjust the linkage on the 5 speed transmission.  When I shift it into 1st gear the lever needs to be halfway towards the 2nd gear for it to engage. Can this be adjusted?

Answer
Hello Bob:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. I Looked at the Breeakdown of the Transaxle Shifter, Brake and Case and the Shift Lever Linkage. There are No Adjustments. Check for Loose or Bent Linkage. Check the Transaxle Mounting Bolts and Ensure they are Still Tight. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
