Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 4.5 HP mower leaking oil/no power, steering wheel puller, question pool

Question
Recently I hit a stump in my yard with my crafstman 4.5 HP push mower. Of course it stopped dead. It was very difficult to get running again. Rope pulls almost too easy and I can hear a hissing sound when it doesn't turn over that I never noticed before. Once running it doesn't really rev up. It easily bogs down and cannot cut high grass now. It has no hand throttle adjustment, and now it is blowing oil. I see it covering the whole right side of the mower deck. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong. Also, There is no more vibration than normal after hitting the stump, crank and blade seem to be fine. thank you for any assistance you can give.

Answer
Hello Brian:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Remove the Blower Housing (metal engine cover). Remove the Flywheel Nut or Starter Cup (Depends on the Model). Now Attach a Steering Wheel Puller to the Flywheel Using the Threaded Holes in the Flywheel. Tighten the Puller. Now Hit the Puller with a Hammer. Repeat this Procedure Until the Flywheel Pops Up or can be Lifted Off the Crankshaft. On Some Models you Can Not Use a Puller and Must Use a Pry Bar and a Pipe Cap that is Slightly Larger than the Crankshaft. Place the Pipe Cap Over the Crankshaft to Protect it. Place the Pry Bar Under the Thick Section of the Flywheel and Pull Up Against the Flywheel. **BE CAREFUL  DO NOT PUT A HOLE IN THE BLOCK UNDER THE FLYWHEEL** Now Hit the Pipe Cap that is on the Crankshaft (covered with the Pipe Cap). Repeat the Procedure Until the Flywheel can be Lifted Off the Crankshaft. Replace the Damaged Key and Reassemble the Engine. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
