Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Brand new lawnmower Engine low rpm, vehicles engines, lawnmower engine

Briggs Lawnmower Model Number 96114000314 "Weedeater 22"  Cut" This is a 1 month old mower that I bought brand new at Walmart. My question is how can I increase my engine speed for more horsepower for better cutting? There is a lever where a cable usually attatched for speed control cable on older versions of lawnmowers on the front of this engine. Can I change the way its govererned or is this a permanent thing? Will it be expensive for these parts. I rebuild all my vehicles engines myself. So I have mechanical expirience. But I haven't worked on a lawnmower in about 25 years. The lawnmower seems to  be set at low speed throttle setting. I know its very economic at this setting because I have a big yard and it won't run out of gas when I cut it. But I'd like to cut it a little faster even if I have to stop to refuel. Thank You for any Help you can give me....

well I noticed that the newer mowers run a little slower but there is one thing I would check on this is the governor spring hooked up under the air cleaner the next thing is you could adjust your governor up a little more but not to much you will blow the engine let me know how you make out
