Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 2 part Flo-Jet rebuild, homelite generator, green rubber

Question
Hi Nathan,
I have an old Homelite generator that I'm trying to get running for hurricane season. It has an old Jet-Flo carb on it and I have already purchased the kit and cleaned the carb thoroughly. The kit includes a small green rubber piece about the size of a BB only cylindrical with a hole through the center. Is this a seal of some kind? and where does it go? Maybe there is a blow-up diagram somewhere of this carb? The engine is an 8hp Briggs MODEL: 170412 TYPE: 1692-01 CODE: 80022010. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,  Bud

Answer
most of the ones I rebuild have a green rubber ring and what that is for is the seal for the needle for the float as long as your needle doesn't have the rubber on the end and another way to check is take the float and needle off and look down the hole to see if there is one in there if there is take a pic and pry it out and put the new one in make sure you blow the hole out before placing the new one in thanks
