QUESTION: John...Thanks for getting back to me...model is AYP8186A49 ..could use help on the belt routing altho I think it is right...one other possibility could new belt be a little shorter causing me not to have any clutch pedal to speak of...Thanks... Jim

Answer
Hello Again Jim:

If the New Belt is the Proper Belt and the Clutch has Never Been Adjusted for the Old Belt, then the Clutch Should Work. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the A. Then Select AYP. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers 8186A49. The Download the File for Online Viewing. The Breakdown of the Clutch is on Page 6 of 45. Remove the Deck and Have Someone Operate the Clutch. Always Remember; A Flat Idler is Designed to Ride on the Flat of the Belt and the V Runs ons the V of the Belt. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
