Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stalling lawn tractor, craftsman lawn tractor, jumper wire

My Craftsman lawn tractor stalls when the blade is engaged. There is nothing caught in the belt. The shaft spins freely. What else should I do?

it sounds like you have a safety switch that is bad I would look at the lever that engages the blades for a switch and take it off and then run a jumper wire to see if it works then when I say jumper wire run it from wire to wire on the plug try that and let me know I will send you another direction
