Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda G100 carberator, honda g100, scott keating

Question
Hi John.  I have a honda G100 motor that I have not used for a couple of
years, and in which I left some gasoline during that time.  The motor will now
not start, and I fear this is because the fuel has gummed up.  Any advice you
have on how to get the motor started again would be most appreciated.

I was planning on removing the carberator and letting it soak in Gumout
Carberator Cleaner for a couple of days.  The only problem is that I can't
seem to be able to remove the carberator.  Is there some trick to removing
the carberator on these engines?

Thanks so much for your help with this question.

Answer
Hello Scott:

What Problem are you having in Removing the Carburetor? It May be that I have Worked on Small Engines so Long that I Do Not See the Problem. Once you have the Fuel Line Disconnected and the Carburetor Mounting Nut/Bolts Removed the Carburetor is Turned so the Linkage from the Governor Arm can be Removed from the Carburetor Control Valve thru Shaft Plate.  Thanks.
