Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kohler 25 hp backfiring, hp kohler, punp

my 25 hp kohler strts backfiring after 15 minutes of warming up.  my local shop has replaced the fuel punp and
cleaned the carb...it still backfires. any ideas?
