Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): replacing fuel lines on a Craftsman Weed Whacker, fish tank, air pumps

Question
I got a Craftsman Weed Whacker really cheap at a garage sale. It's gas-powered, 17" cut, 21cc and the model number is: 358.796050. The guy told me that the fuel lines had started to leak, so he removed them. Told me it shouldn't be too hard to replace them. The guy at sears told me that the fuel lines are just the same tubing you get at Wal-Mart for the air pumps on your fish tank. So I bought an 8 foot section of the tubing and am ready to repair my trimmer. The garage sale guy told me that there were two different lengths of tubing, one that went deep into the gas tank and one that went just slightly into the tank. Can I just cut two different lengths of that tubing and install them?

Answer
Hello Jeff:

Use Spray Lubrication on the Hose to Assist it to Slide Through the Holes of the Tank. Pull One Through the Hole and Out the Tank Fill. Place the Weighted Fuel Tilter on this Line. Pull the Line Back Into the Tank Until the Filter is Laying Center of the Tank. Attach the Other End to the Primer/Carburetor. The Other Line is Pushed Into the Tank About 1/2 to 1" and Connected to the Primer/Carburetor. If the Primer Does Not Pick Up Gas, then Reverse the Lines on the Primer/Carburetor. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
