Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): my TORO wheel horse riding mower wont start, toro wheel horse, jumper box

Question
Thanks for responding,
since the sart of the summer this year my toro wheel horse tractor has had an electrical problem, i would use my jump start box to start the mower most every week. Well last weekend i went to start it like normal and nothing happened so i finally went out today and bought a new battery and i hook everything up again and nothing happens. it does not even spark when reconnecting the terminals?? So i went and got the jumper box again to make sure and still nothing!! So i kept messing and looking for any disconnections but to get nowhere. The mower is a 1996 model if that has anything to with it. How do i go about fixing this. The key doesnt even klick when i try to turn it over. and yes the parking  brake was on and i was sitting on the seat. SO what do I do??

Thanks you very much for your help.

Answer
Have you checked the main fuse?  Did you clean the battery terminals and the cable ends with a wire brush before you connected the new battery?

Do you know what a solenoid is and where to find it?  If not, follow the battery cable from the battery to the solenoid.  How many small wires are connected to the solenoid?
Let me know.
