Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): hydrostatic tractor, hydr, model numbers

Question
I have a hydro tractor Huskee model# 113AS698h131, series 690-699. the problem is it will start and mow then after awhile won't move its like it slip out of gear and overheats after cool down you can go again. I wasn't sure if its the transmission needing fluid or the fan not working. can you help please

Answer
Hello Diane:

Is the Motion Drive Belt New? The Most Common Cause for a Hydr to Perform in this Manner is the Motion Drive Belt. Usually the Motion Drive Belt Being Stretched is the Cause for this Problem. As the Bet is Used it Heats Up, Stretches (a belt stretches and shrinks and over time becomes stretched to a point to cause the problem you described) and Becomes Hot which Causes the Belt Slip and Not Squeal or Smoke. Make Sure the Housing and Fan are Kept Clean and Usually the Hydro will Not Heat Up. If this is Not the Case, then Let me know with a Follow Up and I can Give you More Information as to Other Possible Causes. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Mower at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (MTD) and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
