Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Murray Lawn Tractor, murray lawn tractor, starter solenoid

Question
I cut my tractor off one day and it was trying to crank back up.I unhooked the negative wire from the battery. When I try to hook the wire back up it tries to crank up again. The key is not in the ignition nor is it turned on. What is the problem with it and what part do I need to replace.

Answer
Hello Vernon:

This can be a Bad Ignition Switch, a Bad Starter Solenoid or a Bad Starter Relay (if this Model has the Relay). I Suggest you Disconnect the Ign Switch and Connect the Battery. If the Starter Turns, then Replace the Starter Solenoid. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
