Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): blown motor, push rod, intek

My B&S 18hp intek plus model 31h777 type 0202e1 piston broke at the pin that connects it to the push rod and it is only 3 yrs old is this a common problem also note that I follow the owners manual to the T (ocd)

To my Knowledge this is Not a Common Problem for this Engine Model. Some of the Twin V Engines are Having Connecting Rod Problems. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Hope this Helps.
