Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Mowers, head valve engine, steering wheel puller

Question
While mowing with my 3.5 hp. Murray push mower the blade came off.  I put the blade back on and now it won't start.  Could losing the blade while it was running caused damage someway? It made a horrible racket.  I know I did not hit anything with it.

While mowing with my 7.0 hp. Huskee (Intek engine) it just died.  I cannot get it started.  I have changed oil. Tried 3 different spark plugs. Drained the gas and filled it with fresh gas. Had the carburator apart and found nothing.  All openings are clear.  The carb is getting fuel. I have tried starting fuel.  Nothing!  It started acting like this at the beginning of the season and I changed spark plugs and oil and it started right up.  I might add that there was a problem with the rope starter.  It was very hard to pull every other time I tried to pull it.  It was like it just seized up and now it is easy to pull but no start.  What do I need to check next?

Answer
Hello Carol:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine and Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. On the 3.5 Murray; the Flywheel Key May have Been Damaged. Remove the Blower Housing (metal engine cover). Remove the Flywheel Nut or Starter Cup (Depends on the Model). Now Attach a Steering Wheel Puller to the Flywheel Using the Threaded Holes in the Flywheel. Tighten the Puller. Now Hit the Puller with a Hammer. Repeat this Procedure Until the Flywheel Pops Up or can be Lifted Off the Crankshaft. Change the Key if it is damaged at All. On the 7.0 Huskee; Is this Engine a OHV (Over Head Valve) Engine. If Yes, then the Valves May Require Re-Setting. The Model Numbers will Assist me in Assisting you. Thanks.
