Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Blown fuses, 20amp, On JD318 Tractor, amp fuse, blown fuses

While mowing, the 20 amp fuse will blow. This is intermittent but still bothersome. The tractor was purchased in 86'. this just started to happen.

Answer
You need a new PTO clutch.  318's are now starting to see their clutches go tits up.  Install a 25amp fuse and see if it goes longer before the fuse blows.  I'm betting it will.  If it does go longer, you need a new clutch winding.  If it doesn't last longer you need a new TDC box.  The dealer will know what you are talking about.
