Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B & S 6.5hp Carb problems, air filter assembly, nothing but air

Question
QUESTION: I am currently working on a B & S 6.5hp Quantum engine.   B & S engine model # 125k02 type 0432. I have two differnt carbs 1st leaks ( slow poor ) gas out primer inlet to air filter assembly as if needle isn't seating properly
2nd doesn't allow gas to flow through when trying to prime,
it does allow gas to bowl and leaks for about 3 or 4 seconds before stopping, but then when attempting to prime nothing but air. I have replaced o-ring,bowl seal, bowl nut gasket, and air assembly gasket.Checked float,No holes in float, submerged in water no bubbles and floats, no sound of sloshing water when shaken, needle looks good, seat looks good almost new, oiled before replacement. PLEASE help I'm stumped

ANSWER: I'm going to call you "Jeremy The Tightwad"

Buy a freakin carb.  #498170.  List price, 30.80.

Don't buy the carb from the dealer that sold you the parts.  He's a crook. This carb is a throwaway.  He should have told you a carb was only 30.00 and that includes the gaskets to mount it.

My grandma's name was Zimmerman and her mom's name was Messerli so I come from a long line of Jews.  We know all about being Tightwads.

QUESTION: HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
I just got off work and sat down in my garage to see if I had and answer yet. Boy did I ever! I've been sitting here laughing at myself w/ my wife for several minutes now.I have been cursing this damn thing for days and kept telling myself to just go buy a carb. Your right just being too tight. I hate that my closest parts store is 40 min away! Honesty Appreciated
Thank You
ANSWER: They call me "THE TRUTHMEISTER"!
1/2 the time people laugh when I harrass them, 1/2 give me all 1's on my ranking.
People take life to serious.
Since you live 40 minutes away from your parts store you probably drive some big ol' honkin 3/4 ton four wheel drive truck.  (40 miles from a part store usually means RED NECK). The good news is when you get home you can go real fast in reverse and slam on the brakes to unload the part.
I can ship the carb for 8.00 UPS if that's cheaper than the fuel.

Glad I can help.

QUESTION: Anyways I do have another question in fear of it being the stupidest here goes. I bought the carb and it did fix my problem except now the engine is running weak, strong enough to mow but not mulching very well, already replaced blade. Idle spring or governor spring whatever you call it seems to need adjustment. Can it be adjusted and if so how? Seems like I could just bend it or should I just buy a new one?
And by the way I actually live just outside the metro and drive a Nissan(Great Mileage). We had 2 parts stores and they both closed on top of sears closing their repair center.Sucks
Thanks "Jeremy the Tightwad"

Answer
I like guys like you Jeremy.  You can appreciate a little humor.  Bend the tab the spring is attached to towards you until the speed sounds correct.  The lever the spring is attached to takes the brunt of punishment when ran into bushes, split rail fences etc.
