Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman lawnmower not getting gas, briggs and stratton, vacuum line

Question
I have a craftsman 19hp lawnmower with a Briggs and Stratton motor 42E707 type 2631 E1.  I rebuilt the carburetor and fuel pump.  It is not getting fuel.  I may have the fuel pump put together wrong.  I have a diagram but it is not very explanatory.  If there is anything you can help me with I would appreciate it.

Answer
Hello James:

Did you Check the Vacuum Port at the Engine and the Vacuum Line? On Some of these Engines you May have to Prime the Pump. Not Often but Sometimes. But First Lets Make Sure the Fuel Pump is Assembled Properly. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers 42E707-2631. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Select the Carburetor (3 or 4 Bolt Mount, it Does Not Matter), Carburetor Overhaul Kit and Fuel Pump File. The Breakdown Shows the Pump in the Order of Assembly. Click on the Magnifing Glass with the + to Enlarge the Breakdown. Thats as Easy as I can Explain it. If you have the Pump Correctly Installed, then Check the Vacuum Port on the Engine and the Vacuum Hose to the Carburetor for Blockage. The Fuel Port is Usually the Port on the Side and the Vacuum Port is the Port Out the Bottom.  Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
