Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): b&s 18.5hp 31p777, bowl style, type engines

Question
i just replaced my 17hp b&s with a new 18.5hp b&s 31p777. do i need to take the fuel pump off my old engine and install it on the new engine?

Answer
Hello Lou:

To be Exact I Require the Type Numbers Off the Engine Also. However, from Viewing Several of the Type Engines in the 31P777 Model Series, I See No Fuel Pump as this is a Bowl Style Carburetor. If the Gas Tank is Lower than the Carburetor, then a Fuel Pump is Required. Some Models Use a Vacuum Pulse Pump and Others have an Electric 4 to 6 psi Pulse Pump. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
