Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S question, boat anchors, fred sanford

Question
QUESTION: My Nemisis...okay he is my father in law(we are good friends) well he acts as if he knows everything (age65 jack of all trades builds his own computers and volunteers more time now then he ever worked for NY bell 35yrs) Anyway he has  a twin 19.5 B&S mower that runs great runs strong starts good etc only problem is once its hot and U shut it off it won't start untill it cools off. Mower is maybe 10 years old but looks as if it is new never been outside and we both live in  SW Florida never gets cold. My question is this what are the potential causes of this. I know his answer he's like an Italian Fred Sanford so don't tell me to use it as a boat anchor because he still has the boat anchor from the boat that burned up in the garage 6 or 7 yrs ago. No boat just the anchor. I would appreciate your thoughts on this okay I just want to prove him wrong ..just once LOL

ANSWER: Vapor lock.  Freak him out. Stick a wooden clothes pin on the fuel line about 4 inches from the carb and see if the problem goes away.

I also feel a liitle bit offended.  Some of us collect "boat anchors" I got a 89 Toyota and a 69 Vega.

QUESTION: Are U kidding me??a clothespin? his thought a compression issue. I'm gonna do it god I hope your right otherwise I'm gonna be painting the outside of his house instead of him redoing my 5 ton AC unit in my house for free. Brother I hope your right it surely is hot here in Naples Florida..next question they made a vega in 69???? I had a 74 LOL
ANSWER: I've got a Vega with 396 big block. I had to remove the rear seats so I could move the drivers seat back to have enough room.

Once again proof that high school boys are idiots.

Wait till dad goes to do his volunteer thing and give it a try.

Answer
I can tell you about Mickey Thompson 50's on Cragar Super Sports on the back, And 3" center lines in the front, with a sweet set of side pipes and "High Jacker" ladder bars, but, deisels aren't my thing.

I can tell you this though. Kubota has by far the highest parts cost in the industry.
