Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 345 FD590 Engine, blown head gasket, john deere 345

Question
My engine has a rising oil level and a lowering coolant level.
I have not added or removed either oil or coolant. I see no
discoloration of either oil or coolant. I hear a distinctive
clunk intermittently. Someone told me that the problem was a
blown head gasket. Do you think I should attempt the repair
with only minimal skill? If not, what is my best recourse?
Thanks,
Don

Answer
Hello Don:

If you have a "Foot Pound" Torque Wrench and a Standard Tool Set you Should have No Problem Replacing Both Head Gaskets. Do Not Do 1, Do Both. Look at the Breakdown of the Engine and you can Decide. I Will Assist you All I can with the Torque Specifications and Any Other Questions you May have During the Repair Process. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
