Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): john deere lx188, question pool, safety switch

Question
I have a lx188 that has been working great for me.  I recently did a oil change, new plugs and new filter.  It has sat outside under a tarp the last 6-8 weeks without any usage (too dry for grass to grow).  I started it up yesterday (took it a little bit, but it wasnt unusual for its long time without any usage).  I have to push on the break to start the mower, as soon as I take off the break it dies.  It doesnt matter if I am high reved or low - it still dies, if I push the gas at the same time I can get it to move, but it will still die with the break off.
Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hello Ross:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Check the Seat Safety Switch. On Some Model Mowers you can Simply Unplug the Switch and On Other Models you have to Place a Jumper Between the Connectors in the Harness. **I DO NOT EVER SUGGEST YOU OPERATE MACHINERY WITH A SAFETY SWITCH OR SAFETY DEVICE BYPASSED. THIS IS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY** You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
