Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda gx200 6.5, honda gx200, arinet

Question
Hello John. My Gx200 is not starting. I think it's electrical since I am not getting spark from the plug. I put a new plug in, checked for spark. I had spark. I installed the plug and the motor and it started once. The 2nd time I tried starting it, it would not. I pulled the new plug back out and now there was NO spark again. Any suggestions on what I might try next? Plug wire maybe?

Answer
Hello Marcel:

Try Another Plug. I have Had Plugs Go Bad After 3 or 4 Minutes of Running. If the Plug Does Not Correct the Problem, then Disconnect the Shut Wire from the Coil and Check for Spark at the Plug. If No Fire at the Plug, then the Coil Assembly is Bad. If you have Fire, then the Stop Switch is Bad or the Stop Switch Wire is Shorted to Ground. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. The Coil is in the Ignition Coil File and the Stop Switch is Shown in the Fan Cover File (breakdown # 9). This should be Close to your Model. I Used the First GX200 File in the List, Since I Did Not have All the Model Numbers. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
