Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): TB20CS Starter Rope, starter rope, starter repair

I recently purchased a Troy Bilt trimmer model TB20CS for what I thought was a good deal.  When it arrived I found out that the starter rope had slipped and shredded.  Upon trying to dismantle the engine to get to the starter rope, I know it sounds simple, I could not find out how to get to it... I am pretty good with motors and there is no way that I can see to get to it without destroying the housing... can you help

Do you know if the engine is a Tecumseh 2-cycle engine?  Also, try searching the internet for Tecumseh starter repair.  

Let me know if you can identify the engine brand.  If you identify the engine brand, send me the model, spec and serial number.
