Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mitsubishi generator - MGE4000, mitsubishi generator, fault type

Question
In the center it has a Ground Fault type of electric socket set up with two 3 pin 110 sockets in it. When I start it the GF trips after about 2 to 3 minutes. This occurs even when there is nothing plugged into the sockets, so there is no load on them. I am able to use the round 30 A 110 volt socket using an adaptor I bought at HD with no problem but I'd like to be able to use these two regular 110 sockets as well. Before I look for a service center to bring it to I thought I'd try here because I see you answered another question on these generators. I've had it 3 1/2 years but haven't really needed to use it yet. Have been keeping it for an emergency.
Thank you.

Answer
Hello Drew:

Is this the Socket with the GF in the Socket or Off to the Side of the Socket. Usually this is Caused by Corrosion Inside the Socket or the GF Switch Itself. Replace the Socket if it has the Built in GF. If the GF is External, then Replace the GF Switch itself. I have 2 Generators and have Both Types of GF Protectors and I have had to Replace the GF Switches on Both. I have 4 Hours Running Time on 1 and Less Running Time on the Other. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
