Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton carb., briggs and stratton, merry tiller

Question
Hi,
I have just acquired an old Merry Tiller rotovator, with a Briggs and Stratton 3 HP engine. The model number is 80302 0154. I would like your advice please on the format of the throttle links to the carb. There is a spring that appears to run from the throttle spindle, to the base of the control rod.  The throttle cable also appears to locate on the base of the control rod.  I notice that there is a small hole in the flange that protrudes from the governor vane.  Could you please tell me what connects to this and whether it links to
the throttle spindle, or elsewhere.  So basically, I need the set-up of the throttle spindle/control rod/governor vane.
Many thanks.

Answer
Hello John:

There is a Link that Goes from the Vane to the Throttle Valve Control(on the Carburetor). The Spring Hooks Into the Loop of this Link and Attaches to the Piviot on the Throttle Control Bracket. When the Throttle Cable Moves the Control Piviot, the Spring Pulls the Vane and the Throttle Valve Moves and Increases or Decrease the Engine Speed. The Spring Tension and the Vane Regulate the Engine Speed. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully

John
