Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John deere lx188 just stalled and wont start, mowing lawns, exit side

Question
My 13 year old daughter bought an LX188 lawn tractor.  It "pulsed" at idle.  We replaced the deck blades and while she was making a test mow, the tractor stalled.  It almost seemed like it was out of gas.  I filled the tank and it runs for approx 1 min.  I removed the fuel tank and cleaned the sediment out of that and also replaced the fuel filter.  It sounds like a fuel pump problem, but I removed the exit side fuel hose from the pump and as long as the tractor ran, it pumped out fuel.  Help..my daughter but this so she could mow lawns this some for money..she has a few jobs lined up and waiting.

Answer
When it dies, pull off a plug wire and test for spark.  If the spark is ok you have a fuel issue.  If "no spark" you need an ignitor.

I'm guessing the fuel pickup tube is clogging up. Did you actually blow air through the pick up tube.  Clogging at the top is super common.

Maybe God is trying to tell you that a 13 year old girl is to young to operate a LX188 on a comercial basis. She should be texting on her cell phone and playing with Barbies.  Not mowing lawns for an extra buck.
