Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn tractor wont start, gas filter, debri

my 20.5hp B&S was running fine until I ran out of gas.  Filled up and engine would not even fire.  I replaced fuel filter and blew out line from filter to tank, but still would not fire.  any suggestions?

When you let the mower run out of gas you wil usauly suck in to the carburetor the dirt and debri that was in the tank. All or some of the small particals go past the gas filter and get into the carb ports,which are very tiny and the clg up the carb you will need to clean the carb out.
