Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh wont idle well, proper linkage, authorized service center

Question
I have a tecumseh 5 horse motor on a go cart. It wasnt idling well and dying alot. I rebuilt the carb, cleaned it out real well and replaced the shut off needle and seat. I put it back on and have the same problem. Open throttle it runs fine, but the idle circuit isnt flowing. I can turn the idle screw up enough to make it run, but its too high which makes the clutch engage at idle. Is there an idle circuit on this? I believe its a series VI carb with a prime bubble. I saw tiny holes near the buterfly, are these the idle circuit passages? Hard to get too, sprayed cleaner and compressed air in there. Any ideas? If I need a new carb where is a good place to get one cheap? Thanks!! Mark

Try to stabilize engine RPM, by holding steady, the solid link between the gov arm and
the carb throttle using your fingers or pliers.
1. If the engine RPM stabilizes the gov or gov adjustment should be checked or reset
or sensitivity adjustment changed.
2. If RPM does not stabilize, check for proper linkage assembly, weak gov spring or
bent or worn linkages. Could be worn internal gov parts but this is rare.
If you need to order a carb we are a Tecumseh dealer and authorized service center. The holes near the butterfly are for air when choking.
