Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Harmony 1011HS engine cuts out, air filter oil, float bowl

Question
I have a Honda Harmony 1011HS riding mower and it seems to start fine. From time to time it takes a few turns to get the engine started. Every time I use the mower after starting it, it cuts out a few times. After re-starting it 3-4 times, the mower runs perfectly fine. I am afraid that one day it will stop altogether. We have checked the air filter, oil levels, spark plugs, and blade. Everything seems to be fine. Is there any possibility that something is in the fuel line? If so, what should I do??

Answer
Most likely there is some debris in the carburetor float bowl.  Many Hondas have a drain screw on the carburtor bowl for draining the bowl.

Have you checked the carb bowl to see if there is a drain screw?  If there is no drain screw you can loosen the bottom carburetor bowl screw to drain the gas from the carburetor bowl.

Make sure you dis-connect the fuel line or pinch off the line so you do not drain the entire fuel tank.
Let me know if this helps.
