1 1/2 month old was cutting grass when belt came off drive pulley and I would like to know best way to get it back on. it did not break it just popped off because I think I hit something under that made itt pop

Remove the spark plug first.  Many times you can place the belt on the drive pulley first and then on the engine pulley.  Of course the belt will not fully go on the engine pulley but once you start the belt just turn the blade to help get the belt back on the pulley.  It's just like putting a bicycle chain when you were little.
