Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn General riding mower tire, car tire, time hope

Question
I need to remove one of the hind tires to have it repaired.  While I am fully familiar with changing a car tire, I can;t for the life of me figure this out - starting with some kind of plastic guard/cap in the middle that I can't pry off (assuming it's supposed to come off)

HELP !

Answer
Hello Beth:

The Cap was Designed to be Broken Off and Replaced with a New Cap. Most Times the Cap Is Not Replaced at All. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. However, Under the Cap is Usually an E Clip. Remove the Clip and the Rim is Supposed to Slide Off the Axle. The Rim is Keyed to the Axle. Most Times you will have to Soak the Axle and Rim with PB Rust Catalyst and Even Use Heat to Get the Rim Off the Axle. Before Replacing the Rim Back On the Axle, Remove All Rust from the Axle and Rim and Apply Never Seize to the Inside of the Rim Where it Slodes Onto the Axle. This Will Prevent Rust from Forming and Make the Rim Removal Easier the Next Time. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
