Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine wont start, clutch pedal, brake safety

Question
I have a Craftsman 15.5 hp mower, model 917.270653. I replaced the battery because nothing worked or turned over when I tried it. Nothing happens with new battery. I jumped the seat safety and tied down the clutch pedal. If I turn the key to start and jump across the solenoid, the engine turns over strong, but won't start. I can't even get the headlights to come on.  Help please, the grass is growing high.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Chusk:

Have you Checked the Fuse? If the Fuse is Good, then Jumper the Brake/Clutch Safety Next, then the PTO?Blade Safety. If this Mower has a Reverse Lock Out, then Jumper it too. Some of these Mowers have a Series of Relays Under the Seat. The Center Relay May be Bad. From your Description, it Sounds like Either the Clutch/Brake Safety or the PTO/Blade Safety Switch is Bad. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
