Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): cub cadet rzt 50 engine stalling problem, cub cadet rzt 50, kawasaki dealership

Question
I read a question posted to you about the Kawasaki 22hp stalling problem. I to have a Cub Cadet RZT 50 mower and the posting described the exact same problem I am having. The motor will start fine and run for 1/2 hour or longer and then start to sputter for a few seconds and spew out dark smoke with a heavy gas odor. sometimes it clears itself after taking the load off but most times it stalls. If you try to start it, it floods and I have gas running out of the exhaust. I have dealt with the dealership I purchased it from, it has been back to them 5 times. And because we can not recreate the problem in front of their mechanic they keep sending it back to me and within a few days it does it again.  I have spoken to factory reps and they say it sounds like a carburetor problem but because it will not screw up in front of the mechanic they will not authorize a replacement carburetor. I have been told several reasons for this including I should not let the fuel tank drop below 1/3 full if mowing on an incline due to the fuel pick-up location. I understand this however it has done it on level ground with a tank 3/4 full. I have also been told to take it to a Kawasaki dealership to have them work on it. This mower is 10 months old and the factory rep told me that Kawasaki only warranties the carburetor for 30days and the only possible thing that can mess-up the carburetor is bad gas. I have had the fuel solenoid, fuel pump and fuel filters all replaced and the tank flushed 3 times and the carburetor dipped cleaned twice. I hope you can help me because the dealer and factory cant.    Dan

Answer
Rather than go through it all again read my answer to Jarrel on 05jun2007.  Do this exactly. Be an ass if you have to.

You also need to find a new dealer.

If the smoke is black it always means to much fuel. So hill sides don't mean a thing.

Do you have a Deere dealer near by.  He works on more Kawasaki engines than every other Kawasaki dealer within 50 miles of you, combined!  That's all he does.  Kawasaki sells 61% of all it's engines to John Deere.
