Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): problem with a craftsman LT1000 latn tractor, craftsman lt1000, ground connections

i have a craftsman LT 1000 lawn tractor and when i have a new battery in it but when i turn the key all i hear is a little click but that's all, can you help me?

Answer
A clicking solenoid is often associated with dirty/corroded connections or a weak battery.  Was the battery fully charged before you installed it?  Did you clean the battery terminals and cable ends with a wirebrush before you connected it?  Did you dis-connect and clean the ground connections with a wire brush?

Finally, did you check the starter gear to see if it binding?
