Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman riding mower model 917.255371, briggs and stratton, throttle control

Question
Hello, I removed and cleaned the carburetor. But I forget how the linkages are connected to the control. There are 3 connections; Choke, Governor and spring governor linkages.
Could you help? Thank you.

Answer
Hello Wm:

The Governor Spring Hooks to the Governor Arm in the Lowest Hole and then to the Throttle Pivot on the Control Bracket. When the Control Bracket (# 222)is Moved by the Control Cable, then Spring (# 209) Pulls the Governor Arm and the Control Linkage (# 202 or 202A) Pulls the Throttle Control Valve (Flap Inside the Carburetor Throat) Open or Closed (Fast or Slow) Depending on the Throttle Cable Setting. The Throttle Control Linkage is Connected to the Top Hole in the Governor Control Arm and Connects to the Throttle Control Valve Shaft on the Carburetor. The Choke Linkage (# 216) is Connected to the Control Bracket through the Hole with a Slot in it. the Control Bracket has a Lever that Catches the Looped End and Pulls the Choke Closed when the Throttle Cable is Moved to the Choke Position. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File # 25. Then Select the Folder # 252700 (this is the model numbers for your engine). This is the Breakdown/IPL I Used for Reference. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
