Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro 10-32 XL lurches forward, peerless transaxle, john thanks

Question
John, thanks for being available on this forum, my Toro 10-32 XL riding mower will lurch forward in 4th and 5th gear. It runs fine other wise, but at those speeds can feel as if the transmission is slipping every five feet or so. Last winter I dissassembled the peerless transaxle and to me every thing looked great,no bad or seizing bearings, gears all look good etc. Reassembled it and same problem. Belts are also brand new. Any idea what the problem might be?

thanks alot, Dave

Answer
Hello Dave:

Does this Happen at the Same Interval All the Time? When you Inspected the Transaxle, Did you Pay Close Attention to the Teeth on the Gears? From your Description, it Sounds like a Tooth May be Missing on the Gears Inside the Transaxle. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
