Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tiller & weed whacker, front tine tiller, weed wacker

Question
First off congratulations on your new arrival grandpa :)
Seems everything went on fritz this week.
1) My Homlite gas weed wacker starts and runs great but the whacker part won't spin. How can I fix this problem ?
2) My Old milaukie tiller with Briggs & Statton 3.5 front tine tiller also just won't start. I put new plug in but no luck any suggestions ?
Thanks for your time
Just a gal who like working and fixing things herself if possible and with alittle help.

Answer
Throw away the trimmer. It was junk when it was new and you can pick one up for 49.99 here in Kansas City.

The tiller probably has fuel issues. Remove the tank and carb and clean thourougly.

First siphon the tank dry and fill with fresh fuel. Spray a 3 second burst of carb cleaner diretly in the throat of the carb and try to start. If it starts give the engine short blasts of the cleaner and see if it will eventually run on it's own.
