Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tractor problems, carbarator, air mixture

Question
I could not get my sears 19hp riding tractor to start up. so I soaked the carbarator with gunk cleaner. now it starts but only with the throttle out and in low speed. if I push the trottle in it cuts out. if I bring the speed up with the trottle out it cuts off. and if I move the tractor it cut off. any ideas   thanks

Answer
Hello Jose:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Does the Carburetor have Air Mixture Screws? They May be Out of Adjustment. You are Saying Throttle. Do you Mean the Choke Out it Runs, but when the Choke is Pushed in it Quits? If Yes, then Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install a New Kit if Required. I Know this will be the 2nd Cleaning, but it May take 3 or 4 Cleanings. This is Not Unusuall for Carburetor Cleaning. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
