Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper mower wont start, briggs and stratton, starter solenoid

Question
Hello John, it's Ben again.  I got the information you requested.
Snapper SR140 rear engine riding mower
Model 286707
Type 0136  01
Code 9209164A
12.5 HP Briggs and Stratton
Like I said before, when I turn the key, it simply clicks.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  We are a little strapped right now, so if I could fix it with your help, it would be great.

Answer
Hello Again Ben:

All that Follows Assumes the Battery is Fully Charged and is Good. Touch the Starter Solenoid and Try to Start the Engine. If the Click is Felt in the Solenoid, then Attach the Positive Lead of a Jumper Cable Set to the Positive Post of the Battery. FIRMLY Touch the Large Post of the Starter with the Other End of the Jumper Cable Lead. If the Starter Drags, then the Starter is Bad. If the Starter Turns Good, then Firmly Touch the Small Post on the Bottom of the Starter Solenoid. If the Starter Turns Good, then a Safety Switch  or the Safety Interlock is the Cause. If the Solenoid Clicks, then Replace the Solenoid. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://www.partstree.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the OEM. Then Select Rear Engine Riders. Then Select Your Model from the List Provided. Then Select the Electrical Systems. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully

John
