Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stalling 8HP Briggs and Stratton, roto tiller, briggs and stratton

This is an older roto-tiller, 8HP Briggs and Stratton engine I-C type.  Starts up fine cold, after 2 min of running engine dies.  Hard to restart.  Let it sit and will restart after ~15-20 min.  Where should I start my troubleshooting.

How Old? What is the Compression Cold? What is the Compression when it Quits? The Valves May Require Adjudting. Is the Spark Plug Firing when it Quits? Does this Engine Have a Point Set or Electronic Ignition? If it has Point Set, then Change Them First Off. I Would Switch it Over to the Nova Ignition Module (Rotary Part #8786). It is Simple and Gives Less Trouble than the Point Set. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps.
