Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): engine dies, briggs and stratton, air mixture

Question
I have a murray push weed trimmer with a briggs and stratton quantum 6 hp engine. I can push the primer bulb and it cranks on the first pull but after about 2 to 3 minutes it begins to run rough and cuts off. I can prime the carb again and it will run for 2 or 3 minutes and do it again. I have cleaned the carb, drained the gas  and replaced the plug. Any suggestions

Answer
Hello Mike:

1- Check the Carburetor Again. Did you Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner? Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install a New Kit if Required. 2- Check the Gas Line. It May have Separated Inside and is Restricting the Gas Flow to the Carburetor. 3- Check the Tank and ensure it is Allowing the Gas to Free Flow to the Carburetor. 4- Does this Carburetor have Air Mixture Screws? 5- Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. 6- It can Also be the Coil/Ignition Module Going Bad. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
